Recent applications include surgical instruments used to reconstruct joints and to perform tissue biopsies. Over the past 35 + years, our gears have run in medical infusion pumps that deliver many types of medications including insulin, chemotherapy and those used for pain management. Over the years, new approaches and technologies have made these pumps smaller and Koro furnishes gears for use in several popular ambulatory infusion pumps. These infusion pumps deliver life saving medications and help manage pain for patients world-wide. Their ease of use and portability enable patients to receive therapies outside of the hospital, allowing them to return to normal life and to the comfort of their own home.
Koro works closely with its medical customers to meet their changing, and often challenging, variations in product demand. We understand that part of what makes them competitive is their ability to quickly increase production volume. Over the past year, we successfully implemented 2 onsite unplanned ramp-ups for one of our medical customers. We responsively increased inspection staff in order to maintain our hallmark quality in all production runs.
